Here are our notes from the job, we also have the phone call, pictures and video of what the technician found and explained to the customer the customer then agreed to have the work completed CUSTOMER STATED DOOR WONT OPEN AND OPERATOR BELT HANGING DOWN ON ARRIVAL FOUND GENIE SILENT MAX 1000 BELT HANGING 6" FROM THE RAIL, BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT BUSHING WAD SMASHED AND INNER TROLLEY JAMMED TO THE IDLER PULLEY, THE DOOR HAD BROKEN SPRING AND SEVERELY WORN, UNSTABLE ROLLERS. FIRST WE ADJUSTED THE BELT TENSION AND TESTED THE MOTOR *WITHOUT* THE DOOR WEIGHT AND IT OPERATED WITHIN LIMITS, WE COULD NOT TEST WITH THE DOOR BECAUSE IT HAD A BROKEN SPRING SECOND WE GOT PERMISSION TO REPAIR THE DOOR, INSTALLED NEW SPRINGS AND ROLLERS AND THOROUGHLY LUBRICATED ALL COMPONENTS, BALANCE IS PERFECT. WITH THE DOOR FIXED WE CONNECTED THE TROLLEY BUT HAD TO USE A SCREWDRIVER BECAUSE OF TROLLEY DAMAGE, THEN WE ATTEMPTED TO RESET THE MOTOR TRAVEL LIMITS AND THE TOP SPROCKET WOULD *NOT* ROTATE AND MOTOR WOULD MAKE A POPPING SOUND INDICATING THE INNER DC MOTOR IS BLOWN. IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG THE SPRING HAS BEEN BROKEN AND MOTOR MAY HAVE BEEN OPERATING AN UNBALANCED DOOR, BEFORE MULTIPLE COMPONENTS BEGAN TO FAIL (TROLLEY, BELT, MOTOR) THEN ONCE THE DOOR WAS REPAIRED AND TESTED WE FOUND THE MOTOR DAMAGE WAS TOO EXTENSIVE. CUSTOMER HAS USED US IN THE PAST AND INDICATED HE WOULD LIKE REPLACE THESE DOORS WITH PRECISION DOORS, SO I OFFERED THE DISCOUNTED "NEW DOOR" PRICE OF A MOTOR OF 325, INSTEAD OF 399.00

I needed one garage door spring replaced. The cost resulted in a charge of $350. I feel the charge was high for what parts and service that was completed.

CUSTOMER STATED THAT SPRING WAS BROKEN UPON ARRIVAL. INSPECTION FOUND THAT SPRING WAS BROKEN AND CABLES WERE BENT . RECOMMENDED THAT CABLES BE REPLACED AS WELL AS SPRINGS we replaced not just one spring but also cables a center bearing we also gave a 3 year warranty to make sure there were no future problems
We had a simple repair job to be performed. A spring needed to be replaced. We booked an appointment the service tech came out. I was at work but my daughter and wife were home. One of the technicians who was more of a sleazy salesman than technician started on about the rollers and track and how they needed to be replaced and lubricated. I have been in contruction for over 26 years and had inspected these before I left for work and they were in fine shape. Then they tested the opener which was working and fine but they then adjusted its tension donward so that it would not lift the door as it had done the previous 7 years without fail. They told my wife and daughter that it was a faulty unit and it had to be replaced. They racked up an 850 bill of bullshit repairs. I am angry that I got taken by dishonest dealings from a company that I had used previously and had done a fair job. How did your corporate philosophy sink to such deceptive practices. You have lost me forever as a customer and I will impart my experience on everyone and anyone and while you may scam us once, the word will get out and you will find that this kind of b.s. will result in less sales
